Huila, Los Naranjos EP; We found this coffee through a great program run by Federacian Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia (the same people who brought us Juan Valdez). Typically a farm must fill a shipping container in order to send their crop to the U.S. directly. Small family farms, like the ones in this program do not produce enough coffee to even begin to fill a container, but this program consolidates their harvest into single containers allowing them to sell directly and without blending to the U.S. and allows us the chance to drink terrific coffees we would have never been able to get our hands on otherwise.
This one comes from the farm of Alberto Enrique Monsalve. We thought it was dynamite, 10 out of 10! so we bought the whole crop. Unfortunately very little was produced so we don't have much. Enjoy it while you can.
