The coffees in this section are distinctive not only for their quality, but also for helping to address environmental issues and concerns of economic equity. The farms from which these coffees originate are specifically certified by the responsible agencies. All varieties listed here are organic. Organic describes the agricultural practices used to grow coffee. No synthetic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers may be used in organic practices, either on the farm or in the handling and processing roasting and packaging of the beans. This is an environmental certification issued by the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA).
