DECAFFEINATED | ESPRESSO ROAST |
|
The Swiss water processed decaf coffees contain absolutely no chemicals. The decaffeination takes place in Vancouver, British Colombia. The beans are shipped to us in their green, unroasted state, and we do the rest. These beans are 98% caffeine-free. That translates into about 15 milligrams of caffeine per cup of coffee. Of course, a lot depends upon a number of factors, such as the fineness of the grind, how much coffee you use per cup, and how you brew the coffee. |
With the high cost of the Swiss Water Process Decaffeinated coffee I
have looked for an alternative. A company named Descafelcol located in
Colombia has been decaffeinating coffee very successfully and frankly is
one of the best tasting decafs I have found so far. I have deferred to
them for the name "Natural Process." They claim using Ethyl Acetate,
something present in all coffee cherries, and natural occurring, gives
them the ability to call their decaffeination process "natural". Having said that, this decaffeinated Colombian coffee tastes great. So I am recommending it to all my decaf drinkers. It is also less expensive. We are roasting it in a Light and French. |
